  Maybe it's me and maybe it's after listening to so many of these but does it seem that the fat acceptance movement is more of a vanity movement cosplaying as a health wellness movement? Almost all of their talking points and bases for being fat seems to be purely aesthetic and vanity. They're very dismissive on health and they typically use fatness like it's similar to having different skin color or having different eye color. Is there a sort of denial in health because these people themselves are so wrapped up in their appearances more

  The Setpoint Theory, Intuitive Eating, not weighing BS is what actually pushed me from 15-20 lbs overweight to obese. I’ve learned the truth, & in the last  9 years (Keto), & I’m getting to my goal, not only weight, but overall optimal health. I’m listening to this video as I do my home spa routine. I usually do it on Sundays, but I’m taking myself to the beach & a museum instead tomorrow. There’s so much more to life than eating everything all the time!

  Remember the video for Weird Al's song Fat? The fat gang is bullying him because he isn't fat enough and he screams, "You ain't fat! You ain't nothing!" He then teaches them a lesson by becoming much fatter than they could ever dream of being.

We don’t use a BMI for dogs because there’s such a range in size, instead we use body condition score, which is based on visual observations about a dog’s figure. A healthy corgi should have ribs that are easily palpable but not easily visible beneath the fur, a tucked-in waist that is visible from both a side view and from above, and fairly lean, muscular legs. If your corgi is cylindrical, it is overweight and needs increased exercise and decreased treats. If your corgi’s trunk is round, your corgi is obese and at risk of SO MANY HEALTH COMPLICATIONS. It’s not just corgis, most pet dogs I see in my job are overweight or obese, especially more compact breeds like pugs and corgis, it’s a serious problem! You can’t starve a German Shepard into a corgi, that’s ridiculous, but you can learn what “healthy” actually looks like for your pet and give them the care they need. I’m sorry but overfeeding your pets is cruel and it’s so frustrating to have to pretend otherwise.
