  Thank you so much for the support. I felt that in order to tell Caroline's story properly I also had to tell the story of Old New York and the old families.. I hope it added to the story. ❤❤❤❤

  A lightbulb just went off…when I was going through my Mother’s things after she passed, I noticed all these cards with names on them in fancy calligraphy. These were in a box of my Grandmother’s items. Now I know, they were calling cards from way back when.

  I had an aunt , she was my father‘s older sister , who passed away. Whenever she saw me dressed to go out with my husband somewhere special she always call me Mrs. Astor.. it’s funny I found this video. It makes me think of my Auntie Alice. God bless her soul.🌹

  I am always confused as to why you dont have 300k subscribers. You are by far the best narrator, historically factual and your photographs and videos are relevant. Whereas other YouTubers i troduce incorrect images and facts. Another great video.

  The quiet life of Knickerbocker NY.  Caroline Astor lived in a world where women were not encouraged to challenge the norm so she just did not challenge what was happening; but she was not protecting the past. I wish Annastacia  the best in her next chapter.

  Princess Anne's steely resolve comes from a wonderful blend of her mother and father. She works so hard and is so loyal to her family. People may not like her but you can't help but respect her. Her directness, practicality, and love for her family surely evokes envy and admiration from others.

  Thank you for this video. I'm sure I'm not the only one clicking this video due to loving "The Guilded Age." It is fascinating to hear the history behind the show. What stands out is that the Asters were also new money. Mrs  Astor had a great hype man. Basically her "old money" society gatekeeping was so arbitrary. It's like a few of middle school mean girls with a whole bunch of money. Crazy!  It's fun to watch these shows for the costumes and sets but thinking about what is under the "guilding" of the "Guilded Age" is so problematic.

  I dont think that Caroline knew any better than what she was taught. She was the Queen for the age of NY and an example of her station in life. Excellent research and narration🎉

  She was a beautiful woman of her day.  Too bad there isn't the same moral etiquette expected of young people today.  Even though there was social snobbery, it's better than  the crude morals of today.

  Caroline Astor really was the quiet ruler of Gilded Age New York. Watching this made me think about how many other hidden figures shaped history from the shadows… it’s always the untold stories that fascinate me the most!
