  Very impressed with this box, got it a few days ago....it compliments my apple tv box, which ive got to say, is the best streamer ive ever had, and ive had every premium one under the sun.

  Got mine 2 week's ago for 70 euro of amazon cracking price excellent box  Finally got rid of my firestick 4K after 5 years . Just seen now the price has gone for 125 up to 150  for the  270 tv box 😅😮

  I have both Xiaomi TV Box S 2nd and 3rd gen, wanted to get something for my living room with more RAM and ethernet connection, so I chose this Thomson device. <br><br>I have to admit it is a solid construction, works smoothly, picture quality is maybe a bit better and I like the remote.<br><br>But it doesn&apos;t have a 3,5mm mini jack output (I use 2.1 pc speakers with both Android TV boxes), so you have to buy a sound extractor (more cables, takes extra space) which only solves problem when you set it to &quot;never use surround sound&quot; (otherwise you&apos;ll be forced to turn the sound almost all the way up on your device, because other way there&apos;s a lot of stutter).<br><br>Also you cannot use the flash drives or extern hard drives via USB, unless they&apos;re formatted in exFAT (the device does not see/read the NTFS format). The flash drive I connected directly into the USB port was burning hot after just 15min.<br><br>More RAM doesn&apos;t actually make it &quot;so much faster&quot; than either of my Xiaomi devices, tbf.<br><br>I&apos;m also not a big fan of any sounds coming from the remote when using the voice assistant.<br><br>When you go into sound settings you have to quickly scroll all the way down, because if you stop on the &quot;onn. Device speaker volume&quot; section, you&apos;ll suddenly end up on the home screen.<br><br>I think the Thomson 270 is a great device, but probably only for the user who&apos;ll connect it directly to a TV, without any external sound system and only watch stuff via streaming platforms and such.<br><br>So Xiaomi&gt;Thomson this time

  I bought one of these a while ago and when connected directly to a TV it`s brilliant. For some reason it doesn`t like being connected to a home cinema amp. It`s very hot or miss if it wants to connect or not. I tried it on a few amps and it the same on all of them.

  My main veiwing outlet is bbc iplayer so although you can probably side load iplayer its not the official app.

  A lot of these streaming boxes have gone up in price since the firestick situation glad my beelink is still going good.

  This is a great Box .no problem with this .Apps don&apos;t dissapear.fantastic live section .especialyif you put your VPN on USA.very large amount of channells .I got a seconed one after a week.had these now about 6 months cheap on Ebey . I keep my fire stick up to date .every day just in case .but i think i will be putting my fire sticks back to orig format then move them on .But the Thompson .Great.I have the dark box nicely hides below the tv

  Great informative video. I see it had a live TV button on the remote, does it provide a live TV guide/schedule, ie EPG?

  sorry audio lets it down.no DTS ETC . Dolby Atmos is a good start, I have lots of films with various audio formats &nbsp;so its not a replacement for me YET ?. take it there is not prooblem running apps like Plex etc, and other media Players, thanks for the review

  I&apos;m hearing that certain apps are also now being blocked on Google TV boxes like this one, so it will end up being a similar scenario to what is happening with Firesticks 🤷🏻‍♂️
