I have been searching for so long on how to ensure my tiny (and one and only) portulacaria afra stem that was generously given to me, was able to survive. thank goodness I didn’t listen to the top and prevalent answers I found on the Internet when researching. <br><br>The time you took to explain why and how you did what you did and over what period of time and the soil you used, etc. all of those details have insured the survival of my little guy who is now thriving. I most certainly would have planted the stem. Within one day in rooting soil. I I’m quite sure that would have been the opposite of what it needed to root and grow. <br><br>thank you for your detail and this video!

I've found that the thicker cuttings seem to root faster in water, and the small ones in soil. Not quite two years ago I bought one in a 2" square pot. By feeding very heavily, and taking cuttings every opportunity, I now have 27 of them in 6"pots (8 - 15" high). They're amazing plants !<br>Thanks for your video.
