8:13 It’s literally never too much, I have a notes page on my phone dedicated to each console I have or want, every game for each console and which are priority buys and how much I’m willing too spend. If you love the hobby and it brings you joy it’s never too much💜

Honestly, I love this. I actually got a NDSi XL too, I have a Switch and Playstation too. These things do in fact give me joy, there's nothing wrong about nostalgia. Nostalgia can be great ways to unwind, and cause us to relax in the midst of all the chaos.

Just bought a DSi XL. I never owned an XL variant of the DS family before. My mom and I have loved playing on the Nintendo DS (mostly multiplayer Tetris and Clubhouse games) because it's both super fun and super cheap in comparison to playing on modern consoles. Not to mention there are so many DS games that it's going to be a while before I exhaust the library of games.

I've been trying to get stuff from my childhood as well! I never owned a DSi but I recently bought a DS Lite that happens to be the same color as my og DS from when I was a kid (also got a pink one for my sister that was like the one my best friend gave us) and I bought three games to go with it. I actually have a lot of my old games still, but I want to get the ones I didn't get to have and ones I regret trading away. I got Cooking Mama 2 since I loved it as a kid but traded it in to get a new game, and Petz Hamsters Life 2 since my best friend had (still has actually) it and I remember loving it when they'd let me play it. The third game also made me emotional, it's Road Rash: Jailbreak for the GBA. My dad was the one who wanted it when I originally got it, so we got it in addition to a game I wanted at the time. I wasn't super into racing games as a kid, but my dad and I would play this one together all the time, trying to unlock and upgrade everything. I remember coming home from school a lot and immediately grabbing my DS for us to play it more. I have no idea what happened to that copy, but shortly before he passed away I mentioned wanting to get it and play it with him again, and he seemed happy about it. Holding the game and just seeing it again, it's a weird game to get so nostalgic and emotional over, but the memories just come flooding back ^^'

I hella appreciate people like you who talk about any and all video games that they enjoy. I always watched people talk about the popular stuff growing up but not about any of the smaller things we used to get from our parents or relatives growing up.

I grew up with the ds I grew up with the "shovel ware", im so glad there's people I can relate too on the Internet now 😭😭

I still have my original black DSi from release, it was so exciting when it came out. Smart phones were very new and I didn't have one, so having a device I could use as a web browser, MP3 player, and camera (kind of) was really great. I hope you've enjoyed the handheld!

The thing on remembering your childhood ds case when seeing it online is so relatable to me, I had similar memories coming back with a bunch of things (for example, I'm currently recreating my childhood lps collection, and seeing online a set or accessories I had forgotten I owned until now gives such a special feeling)
Plus I saw on some videos that the dsi xl is often considered the best device to play ds games so that's even better !
