The soundtrack to this game is really underrated. The fact that members of A Perfect Circle helped compose it was so cool when I found out.

The strategy I use with the Peace Maker is to just SLAM on my brakes at the last minute so that I'm in 2nd place, then the Peace Maker wrecks the 1st place person and I then become 1st place. It only fails when you're so far ahead that nobody can pass you, but even then, you'll likely still be in 1st when you re-spawn :)

Thinking back on it, for some reason I find it REALLY cool that Jak's first line in the series is "I'm gonna kill Praxis" and his last in Jak X is "You get used to it". I have no idea why.

The intro for this game is still one of the most stylish intro cutscenes. Made me a Queen of the Stone Age fan lol

This was one of the first games I got addicted to playing online. The genre isn't my jam, but Jak X totally is. :>

Quick note about 4:11 The track that plays is actually 'Whiplash'. 'Run the Table' is a different track

for an epilogue it sure was weird how they introduced an entirely separate city that somehow survived metalheads, dark precursors and all the other stuff in the trilogy. also seeing the entire world map when picking a race was very cool and left me wanting more

Definitely some fun memories playing this on the PS2. It introduced me to Queens of the Stone Age from the intro cut scene and I will forever be thankful for that

I cannot tell you how much time I spent giving each and every single car a unique color scheme and find the best looking parts. Probably almost as much as racing the tracks, at one point I knew them so well I could go full races without ever letting go of the boost, perfectly drifting every corner.

Probably my favorite racing game, everything from the story to the presentation to the pulse-pounding gameplay to the difficulty of Hero mode incentivizing replayability, it’s all just so good.

Listening to some of the soundtracks from Jak X from this video makes me miss the days were video games used to be fun & racing games used to use rock music to make the player more interested in the game. It's because of racing games such as Need for Speed Most Wanted or Burnout 3 Takedown for example is the reason why I became a fan of rock music in general. It's just a shame that not many people now days aren't into that kind of music genre & now listen to some generic pop/techno music. But I understand: different people have different interests. We can't all be the same.
