I was a participant in the reenactment protrayed here! This was made originally in August 1991. I marched with Holmes Brigade U.S. Volunteers.

I was there, it was my first reenactment ever, and I still recall it well. There was over 15,000 reenactors those 3 days, the battles were so great.
My unit I was in at that time was the Illinois 22nd Regiment out of Belleville, Illinois
The 90's was the best time for reenacting, huge numbers were always the thing during those years

I remember at 36:16 when a Totten Battery fired off, you can see us proned out on the ground and after they fired that cannon you see on video, it bent the tree in front of us forward, such and epic moment it was

37:08 was the best acting by the rebels and the best "fire by volley" from the Union line.

Finally, found on YouTube!! I was a reenactor with the Holmes Brigade U.S.V. 13:52 is one of the many cameos I made. Reenactor with Hardee's hat on in center of frame getting ready to load another shot. I remember the cameraman taking the shot. Also at 21:54, 31:50, 32:08, 34:08, 38:47 and 32:28 with a beige shirt with suspenders and blue pants. That day we were the 1st Iowa.

There's a video here on YouTube of a short interview from 1929 of two Civil War vets & one of them faught at the Battle of Wilson's Creek & how he said Lyons died is NOT how history claims. In fact, the only thing historians have correct is that he was dismounted. He was shot, yes, but he didn't die immediately. The vet said Lyons was the bravest man he ever saw. He claims Lyons wasn't shot off his horse but rather pulled off by Confederates & then he started throwing rocks & beating Confederates in the heads with rocks. He said he did all this when he was out of ammuntion & surrounded by thousands of the enemy.

I participated in the 160th wilsons creek event...it's was cool but at the same time it was lame because there was no Confederates to fight against....plus too many rules at the Wilson's creek national park to have a epic battle event
