Hollywood has always had a bipolar history with their talent my grandpa's second cousin was actress Linda Darnell and she was Rita Hayworths co star in blood and sand and the studios liked her last name just not her first name but she was also half anglo and native american and other cultures but very proud of her Cherokee roots but the studios told her to say she was a tan anglo and she told them to stuff it and Rita was pretty but that red hair was ostentatious and not natural it washed her out she was as olive as my cousin was but wasn't allowed to stay a brunette and IMHO she was much prettier with her Romani beauty and what the good Lord gave her than when Harry cohn who wasn't exactly Gregory peck himself he was a fat ugly blowhard told her she needed to go through hell for beauty and adopt a hair color best suited to Lucille ball or bozo the clown whichever came first only reason that red looked good on Lucy was she was pale and could pull it off..I feel bad for Rita going through that bs because she was a good actress but just looked better before the makeover
