Shrieve is a hidden gem. He was so young and so talented at this show. But look who he had to keep up with!! Carlos on guitar and Greg Rolle on B-3. What a band.

I know what hearing Santana for the first time was like for the 400,000 people at Woodstock. One evening in Fall 1968 I happened by chance to walk into a concert at a local high school in Hayward, CA and my life changed forever. I had heard all the local bands, Big Brother, Country Joe, Quicksilver, Moby Grape, Steve Miller, Jefferson Airplane etc. but nothing had prepared me for Santana. At most concerts in those days the crowd just sat on the floor stoned and groovin' to the music. Santana was a revelation getting the crowd up on their feet dancing and clapping their hands joyfully. It was absolute musical magic. The next Monday I booked them to play my high school ($500) and got to see my school mates be as dazzled as I was.

At 77 what can I say, but growing up in 50s, 60s and 70s had the most influence on my life musically than any other time. From Elvis, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and beyond. Mind boggling groups exploding everywhere. A great time to be alive! Thanks for sharing! 🤘🏻

DAMN! I have watched that part of the Woodstock movie about 50 times since the movie came out.....I'm a grandmother now and I still get chills! Crazy good!
