Parental influence can be suffocating if forced not suggested, glad you were able to break free

As another Asian kid who was forced to go on a path planned by strict parents it’s so refreshing to see someone break free and pursue their dreams. Your story was really inspirational to me when I got into college and I have been following your webtoon ever since… I need to get the courage to finish something one day

The idea to start a webtoon knowing you weren't good enough but as a way to improve is GENIUS! This was the inspiration I needed to restart art

I'm 28 and as a neurodivergent artist with very low self-esteem, I'm ashamed of how far I've let my family push me. I dropped out of law school, failed a huge international med school entrance exam, and got a degree in public health that took me 11 whole semesters. Grief, becoming chronically ill, and burning out has finally made me confront the fact that my entire adult life I've been pretending to be something I am not. It's ironic that all my family wanted for me was to end up financially secure and successful and I ended up disabled and dependent on them. Avoiding confrontation is my biggest regret.

As someone in his late 20's who has finally committed to changing career and learning to draw properly and consistently, this is incredibly inspiring.

You are just like me in a parallel universe, except i continued with my engineer path and abandoned my talent and dream. But i glad you made yours happened. Amazing progress, your art is beautiful.

I know you dropped out, but just the fact you kept passing grades in an engineering degree while improving your art shows how fkn hard you worked. I know parental influence is hard but just like you I think people should not ask for permission or acceptance or even support but show undeniable proof that it can work. Although i'm not pursuing art I felt very similar to what i ended up pursuing and still do it on the side because honestly i like art but don't feel like dying without it. But i have huge respect for people like you that found a way to make it work

I liked the message you conveyed about taking steps, not diving in head first, just taking it step by step. It's what I think a lot of people need honestly, nothing happens overnight its just a series of small steps leading up to the big dive.

I'm honored to have been part of your journey. It takes so much courage to face a truth within you that no one else understands, let alone supports. I started teaching for this very reason, for artists who didnt have their parents' support. <3

as an engineer it’s so motivating that it’s possible to turn a hobby into a career, I feel like because engineering is so specialized with so many expensive courses in my education, there’s no way I can get as competent in another field just by self study

Guys there's an ai filter for yt shorts , YouTube it's doing artist dirty , they are making them to have bad reputation and altered their work without consent. Take care. Also amazing art tho
