  Former Yellowstone Ranger here: Correct. Hank Hessler, our now former head geologist there, was tired of the Discovery Channel and more editing his interviews to make them sound more menacing.<br>Norris Geyser Basin changed the volcano forever. It gave it an area to depressurize similar to the water pressure relief valve in a hot water heater.
