I just wonder why African schools don't teach our children about our people elsewhere in the world? This is a reminder of the massive damage that was inflicted upon Africans by Europeans. It definitely need to be recognized as a major historical atrocity...
I can't just imagine the separation anxiety of many African families all across Africa at the time of slavery....Our great great grand parents must have suffered immensely after losing their children to slavery.
We must push our governments to introduce a whole school curriculum about African slavery in the Americas & the Caribbean in our schools..This will start here in Kenya!!!!

Wode Maya I must say thank you and express my gratitude as a TrinBagonian. You have shown the beauty of my country beyond just the sea and the sand. It is so beautiful to watch the strong connections we still share as a people. I have always been a proud Afro-TrinBagonian and after taking the time to really take in your work, it has taken that pride to new heights. Thank you and may continued success follow you for all your days. God Bless.

If you really want to visit "Africa" in the United States, try to visit the South Carolina coast, rural Alabama and Louisiana. You'll be surprised.
