Sadly enough, Raymond Briggs (88), the original author and illustrator of the Snowman has passed away today! His legacy will continue through his marvelous books! Rest in peace, sweet Mr. Briggs! You have touched souls and brought joy to millions of people around the globe.

I taught elementry art for 43 years. Each Christmas I showed the Snowman movie to my students. To this day, I still have my grown students telling me how much they loved the Snowman.

I watched this last night and I cried. Truly a beautiful story that I wished I knew when I was younger. It kept on reminding me how lonely I feel, yet happy whenever that one special friend comes along even for a short time.

I think that's just sad every time the Snowman passes away it was pretty amazing that the snow dog turned into a real dog.
