RIP Franco Harris. The running back of the 70s was definitely him.

There are three different era's in Steeler history. Chuck Knoll, Bill Cowher, and Mike Tomlin. To be fair we need a top 10 in each one.

"There are 27 teams in the NFL, and THEN there are the Pittsburgh Steelers" That sums it all up, thanks John Facenda

As controversial as this list is, I think all Steelers can agree Joe Greene is and forever will be the best

Shula: We tried to make rules to keep the Steelers out of the Super Bowl but those guys were so good it didn't matter.

I've been fortunate enough to meet most of these greats. Franco Harris was the nicest person you could ever meet. Jerome Bettis was nice enough, Troy Polomalu barely spoke, Greene was just a nice decent guy, but Jack Lambert, he was amazing. I was at a local bar, and my girlfriends were busy dancing and flirting and there was football on. Me being a die hard football fan was just watching the game on the TV and he happened to be sitting next to me. I didn't realize it at first, but we started talking football and he was gruff and rough around the edges, but he was a decent guy. He bought me a beer because he was impressed with my football knowledge. We spoke for hours about football and it was awesome. He introduced himself as Jack (he had dentures at the time and was wearing a baseball cap) I didn't recognize him. He said he was so impressed with my football knowledge that before he left, he took a napkin and wrote on it, your father taught you well. Thanks for not blowing my cover, signed Jack Lambert. He handed it to me and I told him that I didn't realize that it was him and even if I did, I wouldn't have blown his cover. He curses like a sailor btw

Joe Greene's accomplishments are even more remarkable given the fact that he played a couple of seasons hurt and able to use only one arm and he was STILL unstoppable!
