  Well now, the answer is in the telling. Ranger goes missing and area he patrols closed off. His file missing. I guess they didn&apos;t want to investgate a murder, is my take on it.

  I’m 65 and I had no problem following this story. It’s very mysterious and interesting. I wish we at least knew what the area is that is being secretly kept! I live at the western base of Star Mountain near Etowah Tn. not awfully far from this story.

  Glad I stumbled acrossed this. I’ve spent months, in total, living out of a backpack in this part of the smokies. Hazel creek, forney creek, deep creek and Indian creek. The history of the area always draws me in; Proctor and names like Mark Cathy. Well that and chasing wild native trout with my fly <br>rod. This was an interesting story to add to the others.

  Having lived in Western North Carolina all my life and graduating from Western Carolina University long ago ( where we explored many towns and hollars) &nbsp; this hit home for me. You did an excellent job with this.

  There are many stories about the government taking peoples&apos; homesteads. Some never get over it. I met a former security guard from the Savannah River Site who said that there was one old lady who kept going back to her house. It happened so many times, they burned her home to discourage her going back. But maybe we would be speaking German or Japanese, otherwise....
