This video features a sharp excerpt from an emergency dialogue between then-Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly member Saori Sato and former Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, House of Representatives member Kazuhiro Haraguchi, discussing "the 'black hole in the budget' hidden by the Yuriko Koike administration and the reality of the abnormal wasteful spending produced by her authoritarian regime." "The assumption that 'the governor of Tokyo, the capital, must be in charge'... A huge blind spot in Governor Koike's administration from a national political perspective." "Why aren't the details of subsidies and outsourced services disclosed? The Tokyo Metropolitan Government's abnormal culture of concealment, refusing to disclose or prepare financial statements, claims 'there is no obligation to disclose or prepare financial statements.'" "Not knowing who received how much doesn't constitute a financial statement... A former Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications points out suspected violations of the Local Autonomy Act." "Despite having a massive budget exceeding that of Sweden, requests for disclosure of policy effects (outcomes) receive zero response—completely blacked out." "The mystery of the 100 million yen subsidy and unsecured loans to foreign companies... 'Isn't this 'Foreigners First,' rather than 'Tokyo Citizens First'?" "Why is Tokyo the only city that doesn't release its financial statements, when the national and local governments do?... The end result of dictatorship unfolding in the heart of the capital." Please read to the end for a thorough investigation into the dark side of Tokyo's administration and the use of taxpayers' money—a topic that major media outlets never touch! 💬 To our viewers What are your thoughts on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's stance of not disclosing individual breakdowns of its financial statements despite managing a national-scale budget, and on its generous support measures for foreigners?
