These stories get on my nerves. The OP is always so hurt but turns around and gives in to the person who hurt him after a conversation. I would have let them stew in their own mess and not looked back.

The story mom was nearly as guilty. Who gives one son a lap top and the other a sweater that doesn't fit?

I call bullsh!t you dont say something like that about your child because of stress and all the other excuses. Dad meant every word and had for along time

I would have sent him that clip and never talked to any of them again. Who cares what happens to them?

I would have gone to a lawyer and had paperwork filled out to have my last name changed. I would have gone to court and changed it to Walker. It's appropriate since if decided to walk off.

That voicemail was terrifying. Imagine hearing your own father laugh about wishing you were never born. Some wounds never heal.

The parents always use the same excuse “ you were always so independent “

My grandfather said something similar about my father. "We'd have had a nice family if it wasn't for [father's name]." My father did 20 years in the Army and served with distinction. He became a teacher, got a master's in Special Education, retired from education as an Assistant Principal. But because he liked fast cars and had friends, who all drove cars and cut up in high school... Yeah. Screw OP's Dad. Live your life.

I’m glad he pointed dad to a financial advisor instead of bailing him out.

So very sick of these people who gets treated like crap, then when the person who crapped on op suddenly needs their help. Op has been ghost for at least a year from said family, now brother reaches out to help the one person who has NEVER been there for op. Let the crapper sink in his own bs.
