Let's not forget that BYD was getting huge handouts from their government. Funding has been reduced, but it doesn't matter as they have already won the new car market war.

The smack to the battery issue is a real issue. Have seen this with the Tesla’s too… though more repairable than the BYD in this area, its an issue to consider.<br><br>Panel and parts access is always an issue for new models, it takes time and money for repairers to buy the needed tools and jigs too.

Plenty of legacy car makers have recalled many thousands of vehicles. European cars have astronomical parts prices. Having driven a number of evs made in China, including Kia and Tesla, I can say that what they offer is above companies like Toyota and the Volkswagon Group.

A couple of things. To get a real indication of sales volume, registered demonstrators at dealers need to not be counted, BYD are well known for this smoke and mirrors. Further, they are not built cheaply, they are a heavily government backed and subsidised operation competing unfairly in an international market.

9yrs or 160km , it doesn't matter the years unless you live in a city and only do short trips but live in the country and you can do 200k in 3 to 5yrs and be left with no warranty and no parts

3 years after 2 requests of repairing or replacement of the door handle because of paint defect, nothing ever happened. I own a Dolphin.
