The Canadian Forces have always done things outside of the Box. Right from World War One when General Currie came up with walking the infantry across No Man's Land with our Canadian Artillery whistling shells in over their heads until our Men were right on Top of the German positions waiting for them to come out of their Bunkers when the Artillery ceased Fire. I'm very Proud of our Armed Forces. All three Branches are exceptional at what they do with the small numbers and antiquated equipment. JTF-2 is like the Icing on the Cake to me. These guys are so impressive and capable eh. There's not much about Canada that I love right now but our Armed Forces always leave me with a lump in my throat. Thank You Canadian Armed Forces Personnel, you folks Rock!!!!

A Canadian reserve officer was sent on a mission in Kandahar to communicate with a local chieftain. He took a couple of goats, went to the village, left all his weapons and armour behind and entered the village. He spoke the local language, new the local customs, and had a successful meeting. His troops complained that he could not go in unarmed and unarmoured. His reply was that this was the local way of doing things, which he understood. He went in, had a meeting, and left unharmed. Sometimes it helps to know the local customs.

I was teaching high school near Toronto when the Canadian Army had a local recruiter at a "Jobs Fare" at the school. One of my students was talking teo the sergeant and he was being polite and asking questions when I showed up. I said to my student. "Tell him what languages you speak" I think his answers included about 5 languages in the area whee the insurgents wee operating. His attitude changed completely. He started asking my student about fluency and other local languages. One, I think that was spoken in Afghanistan, and my student replied he spoke it but could not read it because he did not know the alphabet. The recruiter gave him his card and said if you are thinking of the Canadian military to give him a call. Canada has a lot of immigrants who speak a lot of languages. That gives us an major advantage. It pays to get to know your students. This one was probably in the top 5% of intelligence.

Uh... you forget to mention that the Paratrooper Regiment was disbanded by Chretien for the Somali Incident, a frankly overreaction and the Canadian Para's were Canada's tier one unit and had been since the Second World War.

The 1st Canadian Para's were the most decorated and most capable unit the the Canadian Armed Forces, and then came the PPLI.

The Canadian Army also integrated essential elements Special Ops into it's forces at the platoon level in the First World War, Second World War, the Korean War and the Balkans.

So JTF2 did not arise out of thin air and solely out of the RCMP.

It was the result of the disbanding of the 1st Para's, who filled that role prior to 1993.

Many of those who were in the 1st Para before it was disbanded were there for JTF2 to draw upon already trained to a level far beyond an average Canadian soldier.

These AI videos told good stories and stuff but they got to stop lying. Jtf2 has never ever ever ever ever ever ever lost an operator in combat. They've been shot. They've been injured. Never killed

Americans are going to have to roll back their own self assessments, the problem is that nobody outside the US voices such unrealistic comments.
Yes, lots of money, lots of gadgets but, the quality of manpower, just not there, the constant need to communicate with higher ups is plain silly. From Vietnam on the idiology has been wrong and continues. I would say the quality of members in the SAS, SASR and Kiwi SAS are far more reliable, resourceful and, independently minded then any shit show from the States.

In fairness, these guys are going to kick ass in alberta when they try to get independence.

I find the videos informative, but the AI art is sometimes distracting. For example, there are no, not have there every been, female JTF-2 operators. The AI narrator also makes mistakes. Hey a real person to do it and your videos will do better.
