I retired last August, and have consumed hundreds of hours of financial planning content, along with 5 sessions with different financial planners. Your approach and content is distinctly different. I have subscribed and look forward to continued thought provoking content. You were the first of the channels that I saw address the time value of money in the Social Security decision formula. That told me you were truly understanding the data you were presenting. I think your channel is going to really take off. Great work!

I've never heard Monte-Carlo described like that. "You actually have a 93% chance of under-spending." Brilliant! Makes me feel much better about my "75% success rate" plans. Thanks for the video.

I can say from personal experience that having no debts in retirement is very important.

Appreciate you pointing out this isn't a conspiracy. It's a product (or maybe by product) of the systems in which we live. The more we understand these systems, the better equipped we are to navigate them.

He nailed it. I’ve thought about this a while back. Financial companies make $$$ off of fees.

Fantastic video. My take is that it's a kind of "chicken or egg" scenario where Wall Street, government, etc. are just playing to people's fears about security. it's a real mental game. So I would say consumers are just as culpable.

I got a late start in saving, and investing, all my own fault, no excuses. If all goes according to plan, I’ll have about 600k plus social security, and a paid for house at 65. After crunching the numbers, I should be able to retire comfortably with about 5k a month coming in. I’m a single guy, with no kids. Fingers crossed, but the math should math. I hope…. 🤞

I plan to retire at the end of 2025 at 62 after 36 years in Telecom as a sales engineer. My wife will retire in May 2026 and she's loving life! But walking away from a good income stream and building the nest egg to living from the nest egg is a scary proposition couple with the alarming recession and CPI report

Have no bills and keep your life simple, seems like most can't comprehend that! I know people who retire early on 1500 per month and just work pt they said the best thing they ever did!

Love this highlight of the financial industry's logical incentives. I did not realize how I was manipulated in my 401K funds until I changed companies and moved my 401K to an ETrade IRA account. No more hidden fees and skimming. Access to treasuries and t-bills. Having the ability to sell equities at 52 week highs to buy others on their dips. Able to shift to bonds when the market jumped to record highs. After being in their 401K fund trance for 2 decades, my coaching to my son is, if they have an option to trade outside of their funds, pay the annual fee to do so. If have a chance to rollover the plan to another account, do it every chance you get.
