  I brought a travel rod with me when my wife and I went to St Maarten a while back.  None of my swimbaits got so much as a bite. Grabbed a hot dog from room service, broke it into pieces and threw them on a hook, and landed a couple Lane Snapper! Hot dog fishing is fun.

  I love your channel because you actually catch fish. There are passionate YouTubers out there who make video but never catch anything after lecturing the audience on fishing techniques.

  Not so long ago, I fished a pond that is located in a MAJOR city, on a college campus. &nbsp;The pond is NOT large, maybe 3 acres at the very most, if that. &nbsp;It does however have 3 massive, over powered fountains in it that aeriate the water really well. &nbsp;The pond is also fed by the students and the lawn staff.<br><br>What absolutely amazes me, is not only the number of catfish, but how massive they are in size. &nbsp;These fish are freaking fatties! &nbsp;HUGE. <br>And what was the bait I used to catch these on? &nbsp;What incredible tackle did I use?<br><br>20lb test line wrapped around a plastic soda bottle, a lug nut for weight, and an old treble hook.....the bait? &nbsp;FRENCH FRIES, day old, soaked in ketchup. &nbsp;Caught more than 20 fish in like 1 hour.

  I always used Bar-S hotdogs. Slice em into half-inch chunks and then slide them onto a treble hook. Like push the eyelet through the hotdog so that the bulk of the piece is cradled by the 3 hooks. Then connect the treble hook to a snap-swivel tied to the end of your line. Keeps the hotdog on real nicely.

  All beef is the best for the way i rig em on circle hooks, they stay on longer. If using cheaper ones i like to microwave them a bit before i cut em up, even add garlic salt sometimes. 🎣💯

  We&apos;ve caught largemouth on chicken livers before.. We&apos;ve actually had decent luck catching striped and white bass on livers when targeting catfish.. bass eat weird stuff sometimes..

  Get yourself a bait needle. They&apos;re perfect for hot dogs. I use a pre snelled J hook on a snap swivel. Learned about the bait needles from Luke Nichols&apos; Catfish and Carp channel years ago.
