Making high-production-value Minecraft machinimas completely solo is really hard and time-consuming but personally I still work alone because I always dreamed of making YouTube videos, not having other people do it for me. <br>I think a lot of the most talented creators of scripted content probably feel this way too and it's very difficult to give up control when it's your passion. (also hiring is really expensive especially for small creators)

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xspbCuInLTw&t=887">14:47</a> the search for the lost totem got discontinued because youtube made the whopping decision to not monetize them citing "unoriginal content". Parrot tried to get in touch with youtube support on twitter but in the end the channel stayed unmonetized. If it had gotten monetized they'd probably still be making high quality movies, but because it didn't and parrot's own channel was centred around smp content he chose to start making the unstable smp videos as a compromise so he could earn money AND express his creativity with full freedom to do whatever he wanted. Really sad, but at least we got something and I hope they expand on the search for the lost totem in the future cause we did get left on a cliffhanger

Man... if somebody had told me when i was 12 and watching minecraft rolepay videos that in 10 years there would be a guy comparing those videos to ancient greek plays, i would never have believe them

From my experience, the reason why they don't do them in groups is because groups fall apart way to easy. Great video tho, watched until the end 😁

As someone who has always loved mincraft michinimas as I kid, I always wanted to be able to make my own.<br>Since it died out years ago, I thought I would never get the chance. Though over the past year, I've seen the opportunity, and actually started giving it a solid try.<br>The stories I've seen over the years are without a doubt the ones I hold closest, and this block game is the art form I really wish to master.<br>Lately, I've fallen down a bit, burned out I guess you could say, but because of this little bit of inspiration, you make me want to get my pen and paper out again.<br>Thanks for the motivation mate, I think you just re-lit a fire in a lot of us.

honestly i think the next step is playing fully realized characters, not just youtuber in strange world, but actual characters in stories.<br><br>Edit: So, we're making Minecraft Hollywood. Whose becoming Disney?

I would recommend Oneshef's Minecraft ARG series. It's not really on the machinima side like other series Whitepine or Despotism, but it is still really interesting. It's completely scripted nature seen through the first person lens of minecraft is done in a very interesting way. Especially when the story takes a third person view in select animated segments.
