I don’t want 100% , I want what I deserve or what I am owed ! Nothing more nothing less.

I’m glad someone of influence in this field of study has said it. “Everyone wants 100% but not everyone will reach 100%”.

I’m at 90%. I’m happy with this and it seems fair.

I got Medical Boarded at 19 years active duty in 2025, and that made the entire claims process for me, much easier.

I was medically found unfit, but applied for and was granted Limited Assignment Status (LAS), which allowed me to stay until my 20 year mark. I retired last month with 20 years and 2 days of service with my pension and 100% P&T. I’m definitely grateful!

A lot of veterans probably aren’t missing 100% because they don’t have legitimate conditions. Sometimes they simply don’t understand what evidence is needed, how different conditions fit together, or what the VA is actually looking for. After dealing with a complicated process and confusing paperwork, I can understand why some veterans seek outside help just to make sense of their options and avoid mistakes.

Clay, @TheCivDiv, I don’t know if you could ever know how much I needed to hear that message this morning “not every veteran will be 100%” because EVERYBODY that comes into my office, with very few exceptions, think I should get them to 100%. Honestly, I feel like I’ve developed a little bit of “claims paralysis” because of it! I feel so much pressure, I hang onto claims until I have checked every page of STRs and every medical record. I’m not sure if this is going to help me overcome my neurosis, but I’m definitely posting it on my county VA Facebook page!! Thanks for sharing!!

PTSD is hell on earth. It screws up everything, 70% should be the least for everyone.

Be mad at those who become 100% P&T and have to let everyone know about it.

I had no idea what I was doing when I first put a claim in, about 12 years after discharge I was told by a colleague that I had similar mental health issues to him and that I should apply. I did nothing, literally the VA did its job and found the evidence for me, the only thing I did is a attend the C and P exam. The C and P examiner basically wrote the Nexus and the diagnosis. A high rating for MH right off the rip. I will preface this by saying if I could give it all back and not have my severe mental health issues, I would in a heartbeat.

There are some good C& P examiners, and sometimes the VA does honor its duty to assist. I'm also a combat veterans so maybe that made my path a little more straightforward
