I like it! Next time, add some weld beads to the chimney section inside the water tank before you weld the tank outer shell on. Just little globs/spotwelds all over like goosebumps. What this does is increase surface are slightly but more importantly the now roughened surface breaks up laminar flow and creates a little turbulence. Laminar flow is bad as it acts like insulation like the layer of water in a wetsuit. Turbulence in a heat exchanger is a very good thing as it rotates cooler fluid into contact with the hot skin and increases efficiency. Some vertical fins along that inner skin would also add surface area and increase efficiency... nice build!
