  Out of curiosity I just looked Henderson up, and just last year he was arrested for drinking while working on a cargo vessel. Naturally he was totally nonchalant about the whole thing, even after being fined for refusing to take a breathalyzer test.

  Imagine nearly drowning in a shipwreck, and the captain says that saving people "was not one of (his) top priorities"

  What a gross miscarriage of justice. The punishment for drunk driving in 1989 in the UK was: Life imprisonment, An unlimited fine, A ban from driving for at least 5 years, and An extended driving test before your license is returned.  But because it was a boat captain on a ship, no punishment at all.

  I can not believe how openly callous and uncaring the captain and crew of the bigger ship were and not a single one was held in any way accountable, that’s absolutely horrendous

  My late husband was a Thames Waterman (300 years father to Son) He reported several instances of the Bowbelle travelling at speed through a busy tourist area of the Thames and almost capsizing pleasure craft whilst they were moored up at Westminster Pier. He saw it coming years before it happened. She and her sister ship, the Bowtrader had no business being on that part of the river. Hindsight is 20/20. RIP Stevie Faldo (the Captain) and all those who perished that night 😢

  I remember watching a documentary about this years ago and I&apos;ll always remember a mother of a victim sobbing about how her son was an artist and they stole his hands

  I was a nurse on duty in London that night, and we were called to Casualty, waiting for what we believed would be a surge of casualties. There were virtually none. People either lived or drowned. It was horrific.
