Only an artist as secure in his talent as Peter would take one of his biggest "hits," drastically re-write it to include starring roles for a group of world-class musicians hand-picked for his tour, "display" the song in a manner that invites maximum crowd involvement, and let those musicians shine. Big man, big heart, big vision. A true musical genius.

This concert was recorded in Modena, Italy in 1993 and I was there! One of the best nights of my life! He is surreal: before the show he came onstage to introduce the evening in Italian, asking for patience because they would be recording the gig and so it might be necessary to re-record a few songs at the end of the show. And the show, my God... This is just a fraction of what we all experienced that night!

It can get lost with all that's going on with this performance, but Manu Katche is putting on a masterclass in drumming. Dude is an absolute genius.

Crazy to think Paula Cole wasn’t even supposed to be here — Sinéad O’Connor was originally lined up for the tour but dropped out at the last moment and Paula stepped in, with only a few days to prepare. Ended up being a huge moment for her career, and you can already hear how strong her voice is next to Gabriel. And Manu Katché… man, his drumming on In Your Eyes is everything. He doesn’t just keep the beat, he builds the whole atmosphere. The way he balances those intricate rhythms with that emotional drive is what makes this live version feel so powerful and bigger than the studio cut. Absolute masterclass.

Just a group of human beings playing, singing, dancing together and enjoying eachothers company. Reminds me of watching children on a playground, just happy to have other kids to play with. So heartwarming.
