  The button has the wrong premise. If it was done correctly, whoever presses the button leaves the game, that way there would be incentive for the contestants to actually get to know the other person instead of just playing a subgame of who can hit the button fastest.

  They should film everyone leaving the studio together and show how awkward it is for them to all passby one another.

  Plot twist: This show isn't a dating show at all. It's a show where the button is controlled by a demon who feeds off of awkwardness and constantly needs fresh sacrifices or else it will escape and end the world. This show prevents that by enabling the demon to ask the dumbest questions in an attempt to create the most nutrients for itself. Each episode only ends when the demon is satisfied with how many awkward conversations it has created and thus how much food it has made for itself as well.

  The button is no longer really a dating show. It’s more of a “I know you’re not into me, so I’m gonna reject you before you reject me” show.
