Also, a reason why Subaru refused to go ahead and stayed behind to continue helping him down the stairs was because Subaru recalled how lonely he felt after his crash out with Emilia in the capital, and he couldn’t let Julius experience that same level of profound loneliness

I really love how Subaru is never allowed to forget about the throne room scene. Even in arc 10 it is still being brought up lol

People havent paid attention about the dialogue regarding julius, reinhard and felix in season 1 if they think Julius is arrogant and tried to punish Subaru. I still remember to this day every scene showing how he ALWAYS highly of Subaru and. How he tried to save Subaru of being killed by the knights, how he respected him and never demonstrated any jealousy after knowing Subaru was the one who defeated the White Whale, how he didnt want to kill Subaru because he was his friend...

Really... one of the motto's for Subaru is that even if everyone forgets, he will not. And if we like our MC, we as an audience should not forget as well

dude one of my favourite things about rezero is that it gives characters these parts of their personality that never get explained or pointed out, but theyre just fucking there, like Felix has a habit of blaming people and lashing out when he feels like hes the one who messed up, we see this pretty often but its never called out so you just gotta notice it. its like theyre real fucking people man

1:38 wait, what? I feel like a lot of people i know myself included felt extremely ashamed of Subaru at that moment....and not even because i didn't understanded why he did that, but because i would have done the same and probably even worse. That entire episode really felt like anime just putted a mirror in front of me and highlighting the worst parts of myself that i don't really wanna look at.....plus Reinheart confirmed later that Julius did that to save Subaru from other's knight's wrath and he even went overboard on purpose to make extra sure they will pity him even tho he soiled his reputation in process....

Imposter syndrome is a devious thing. People see you as great, but you cannot fully accept that praise in fear of narcissism, and you need to criticize yourself to keep yourself humble and always aiming for growth. But those feelings need to balanced, the praise needs to be accepted on some level or you will never feel like you are the person people see you as. You should feel pride in your accomplishments too, even if you might not fully see them as such. Don't over idealise yourself, but don't let the pressure of living up to the ideal crush you either. Find a way to let go and take things as they come, accept what happens and become adaptable enough to adjust when necessary. That is the shinto-buddhist ideal that the Japanese society often projects into their works of media. One capable of going with the flow.
Good thing Julius has someone around who still remembers him and thus functions as his anchor to reality, the living reminder of him indeed being a great knight worthy of something, someone who sees the greatness in him despite his gripes with him, thus providing evidence to Julius being better than he may believe himself to be. Good thing that Subaru still remembers...

It's really crazy how similar Julius and early Subaru actually are. Both are stuck in a world which they know things, that according to everyone else, they never told them. They feel close to people that don't know anything about them. They both are trying to prove that they belong. Its such a well written story.

Fun Fact: Julius and Subaru are one of the strongest duos in the entire world of Rezero.

As a novel reader, you will need to make a part 2 after the end of season 4

I really don't know how Julius is gonna cope with the latest episode, where not only his last remaining pillar has forgotten about him too, but he's going to have to deal with a S1 Subaru again. Not only that, but Subaru will more than likely be put off by him on sight.
