something that works for me is encouraging my teammate even if ive done a mistake it starts a cycle of encouragement and the second me or my teammate deviates from that u instantly refocus from negative toughts to positive

Try to get yourself in “flow”. A simple trick to do this is by creating a “tunnel” and focus point. Just follow the ball with your eyes. Where is the ball that is going to be used to play with?. In the hand of the opponent? Somewhere near the net or in a corner? Look at the ball and / or go pick it up. Or if the opponent bounces the ball before serving, see how it bounces. Etc.

My tip is for your partner if they are very friendly and nice people: Tell them not to be too generous and affectionate with the opposition. I have seen this so many times where the nice guy loses because they are being too friendly with the opposition. After the match, yes great kiss them if you want to!
