I work in the printer business and we’ve been making micro LEDs for a very long time. They are nothing new. I always figure they could use them to make a TV., but expense would be the problem. We had to keep them cool or they would die. There was an environmental control unit on the printer to keep it cool.

In my house, we’ve gone from bulky CRTs to flat screens and now streaming displays everywhere. I’ve learned not to underestimate how quickly viewing technology can change.

Blue polymers on OLED do wear out faster if there is only RGB but LG adds a white OLED polymer for white so the blue is not overworked to create white and has a normal lifespan.  They bought the technology from Kodak in early 2000's.

Not so much replacing television as being television with new technology. Replacing television would be something totally mind blowing - like holographic displays or projection would be.

The next tv screen invention should be 3D without having to wear 3D glasses. TV makers should concentrate on that now.

This for me is very interesting. I don’t think we can call it television anymore. It’s more a display than a television or monitor.<br>Micro LED has always been way too expensive for the consumer market. Even though the technology itself is relatively old now and yet still very expensive. The Micro LED technology break down in this video actually explains the reason why it has been out the reach of the consumer market. I always thought it’s a huge mistake for the companies that developed Micro LED that they left it so long to innovate their manufacturing processes to significantly reduce costs because the consumer market is after all a huge market in itself. To have a display you could make any size as you own it and for it to last so long is something perhaps we’ve all been waiting for. Whether gaming, cinematic experiences, multi screen viewing, art work or perhaps some scenic visual, the Micro LED Display would indeed be very useful in just about every home on the planet. I myself currently use a large OLED display and a Laser projector to watch my content. However, I would like to own a Micro LED display when it finally arrives for the millions and millions of consumers just itching to have this display in their homes. Great video and great news! Let’s just hope it comes sooner rather than later. 😎🤳🏽 📺
