Simon’s nature is Janus-faced—an abstractionist, yet a lover of nature. The fruit of this duality is something rare and excellent.

Lovely images Simon. There's something beautiful about what you find and the way you share it with us. I really enjoyed the first one. It's amazing what people step over or beside without paying attention to the beauty present. Some miss out on so much!

"... than something that's really meaningful." Ouch. Those poor naturalist photographers ;-) Nice image of the birch polypore, almost could be mistaken as a drone image of a river delta, as you say. The others are nice too. Still amazes me how satisfying images of random decaying subjects can be. Photographers often gravitate to architectural subjects in similar states. Odd or interesting that, I can't decide. Cheers!

Three stunning images. The piano background music while the images were displaying was a perfect fit. Those three went together so well. Can't find words for why but I really loved these.

Wonderful video, Simon. You are the person responsible for getting me interested in macro. It's a genre with subjects available year round. As you wrote in your book, "whatever the weather, whatever the hour, however little time you have or unlikely the place, is an opportunity worth grabbing and running with," is a mantra I repeat to myself often now. Thank you!

You have a great eye Simon. You illustrate how you can find beautiful images if you just slow down which I still find difficult to do. Thanks for sharing.

A very earthtone warmish feeling in tan color series. Thanks again for sharing. Thanks for your thought process too. Happy 2026.

You’ve inspired me to take my macro lens out for a winter walk. Lovely video. Thank you.

Firstly may I wish you a very Happy New Year. Three great images I really like the decay and muted tones of all three images and may I say well spotted, patience is the virtue and I thank you for making me slow down and really notice the nature that’s all around us.
