This is by far the coolest infosec interview I've ever seen. What a cool, knowledgeable person she is.

She talked for an hour without a single "ehm". Her communication and presentation skills are so good

You know what is cool? When all those information, or even worse, physical addresses, get leaked from big international companies and all that happens is an email saying "Ops, please change password".

It's crazy that it's normal for a lawyer to talk like a valley girl and then on the other end there's this world class hacker with excellent prose, diction, and elocution.

This is basically an hour long explanation of why digital IDs are not only a horrific breach of privacy and basic human rights, but also extremely dangerous to the safety of regular people online. It doesn't matter how "secure" it is, any database holding peoples biometric data, IDs or credit card information is gonna be a massive target for hackers. And sooner or later they will get in.

Rachel said it best at the end. Be politely paranoid. When I've received scam calls or emails with urgency, I asked questions for them to verify things (which they couldn't), not give out any information, and simply go slow. Being politely paranoid or sometimes even playing dumb until you can verify the authenticity of a call can save a lot of grief...

Nobody is safe from a skilled targeted hack. Key word there is targeted. If you have good security practices, you can avoid pretty much all of the wide spray-n-pray non-targeted type of hacks, but if you draw the attention of a targeted hack from a skilled hacker, you will get hacked.

I heard her interview on Darknet Diaries a while ago and was fascinated in her. Great interview "Daniel" :)

1:10:25 I almost got in trouble last time my business got audited by the state tax people. They just randomly dropped an email requesting every shred of documentation about my whole company and they were blocking all of my normal ways to verify a professional request. I even sent an email back explaining I need to verify this through official channels and they ignored it so ignored them. They were not amused lol. Who starts an official tax audit with a cold call email requesting wayyyy more info than anyone concerned about taxes should need. My thought way "why do I need to give the state copies of the documents the state gave me"
