    Great weapon the Aussies used them until 1962 when they were gradually replaced by the F1. They were used in the early years of Australian involvement in Vietnam and were not completely phased out until 1971.

    Another classic example of the Australian "cultural cringe." An Australian design couldn't possibly be as good as something from the mother country, or even from the Yanks since Britain was too busy fighting for its life to care much about Australia. Nonsense, but the mindset was as rigid as if it was stuck in concrete, and persisted long after the war ended.
