"That I'm not a mistake!" Rocky suddenly remembered that night he told Adrian he wanted to go the distance with Apollo to prove he wasn't just another bum from the neighborhood.

Fighters wake up early to train because it's about the discipline. It's the same with how military recruits in boot camp have to wake up early. It's about resetting your inner clock, and with it resetting your mind.

Ryan Coogler did a phenomenal job with this film. It felt like a genuine, heartfelt continuation of a beloved franchise, whilst also succeeding as one of the best examples of a legacy sequel/reboot

Stallone was 69 when the film was released, the same age as Burgess Meredith when Rocky (1976) was released. In Paulie's room the photo of Stallone as a younger Rocky and a very young Sage Stallone (Stallone real life eldest son), Sadly Sage died on July 13, 2012, at 36 from coronary artery disease caused by atherosclerosis. Stallone admitted that he views this film as a dedication to Sage who played his son in Rocky V.

44:26 “Standing 8 count”, if a fighter is knocked down, the ref will continue to count to 8, even if the fighter gets up before 8 is reached.

one of my favorite details about this movie is they sneak parts of the rocky theme into the movie building up until the final round when it comes in in full blaring.

also "HE'S THROIWNG BODY SHOTS LIKE HE'S ROCKY BALBOA. HE'S GOING UPSTAIRS LIKE HE'S APOLLO CREED" always gives me chills.

My favourite little detail about the Rocky franchise is that Burt Young, Paulie, boxed during his time in the marines and his record was insane.
32 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses and 26 knockouts!
That kind of record fighting trained soldiers is remarkable.

When a fighter gets knocked down, he has 10 seconds to get up. However, there is a rule called a mandatory 8 count which allows a fighter 8 seconds to get up and mentally gather himself.

I think my favourite bit of trivia about the film is that Conlan's character was originally going to be a Liverpool fan, but Tony Bellew, who plays Conlan, was worried about being disowned by his family as he supports their rivals Everton. Bellew asked if Conlan could be changed to be an Everton fan instead and the change was agreed. The filming of the final fight then took part at Everton's former ground, Goodison Park, at one of their games.

@53:15 If you go back to the scene when Adonis goes into Paulie's old room and sees a picture of Rocky and his son, that was his REAL son, Sage.
He played Rocky's son in ROCKY 5 as well!
