The Irish are nice people, I’m a black woman I’m residing in the Uk, a group of us went to Ireland on on holiday and they couldn’t do enough for us, they are very much down to earth people, we enjoyed our stay and we are thinking of going back. Love the country, love the people ❤

The Irish, in my opinion, are the most decent people in Europe. I’ve been to several countries in Europe and have never seen anyone stop to check on a homeless person. I’ve personally witnessed tho several times in Ireland. I have so much love for them.

I’m from cork in Ireland and was delighted to see this documentary than I saw it was 2 and a half hours long I said Christ I didn’t know we had that much in common. Us Irish seek out our country’s connections to other peoples all over the world ,I can only think that we never pushed our connections with Jamaica because Jamaica was part of the commonwealth but enough of that it’s time for st Patrick’s day in Jamaica and it’s time the Irish tasted Guinness punch

I'm Black British of Jamaican parentage and given my cultural upbringing I was always fascinated with the Irish way of speaking, humour, and my deep love for Guinness and Baileys - and some women with Mixed Black and Irish ancestry. This documentary was really well done and I learnt a lot.

All I can say, is every Irish person I have come in contact with. We seem to have this natural connection as if we were both from Jamaica, unique and non-force. almost like you knew each other from a past life and it’s nothing but just good energy we 1000 % have some sort of connection to the Irish people ❤ I love the Irish …..one love!!!!

I have Irish + Scottish heritage on my Caribbean side w' Irish surnames + I actually lived in Ireland 🇮🇪 pre social-media era. I would help my fam sell west indian condiments + sauces in Ireland at that time. The foods were very much exotic for irish ppl. They were booming a bit as we were there after the Celtic Tiger so Irish ppl were doing quite well around that time, more were travelling + experiencing cultures + things outside Éire.

The few Irish ppl that knew about the irish connection to the caribbean were the more "out there" researchy type ppl's tbh as this stuff is not taught in schools. I met 1 scholarly irish person that knew about the book to hell or barbados. The Catholic church + Brits that were extremely in control of the education system back in the day certainly didn't want any of this info out to the Irish, hence the current population may say they have a few relatives in the USA + Canada but when I tell them that there's Irish + Scots in the Caribbean they say I'm lying or its not true or how can that possibly be? 😂. This was the pre social media age tho, maybe now more Irish have been getting in contact w' this info in this current age.

Another one of the "awakened/out-there" pale-skinned Irish ppl's I've met along the way when I used to live there told me about the "black irish" he said some irish ppl know about the black irish, some of them were in county Cork a long time ago....they came from Spain to ireland. I'm not sure how dark they were or what happened to them he said a few irish ppl refer to them but don't know where they ended up or some claim they just had black hair + olive complexion but I do wonder if they were actually moors...the majority of modern day pale irish there now do not truly feel a connection to us in the west indies 😉. I've got to be honest, I mean I actually lived there for many years of my life, learned gaeilge in school, did irish dance and everything, watched the late late toy show every xmas on telly, unlike other ppl who just talk about ireland from abroad but have never stepped foot in modern day ireland....so how these ppl truly feel, I would know. The celts, the irish were very much a homogeneous group of ppl's and had little contact w' a large diverse array of cultures until the celtic tiger or until things developed a bit. I don't usually share this info w' them myself bcuz some of them are not open to it + some feel superior to the "new immigrants" in their country. This knowledge I pretty much keep to myself.

Thank you for a great documentary, so glad I found your channel. My parents were both Jamaican. The family returned there from the UK in 1974. This was a huge culture shock as a 13 yr old. So many happy memories, I’ll be back soon
