Thanks for watching! We should’ve clarified at the beginning of the video... the guy constantly being picked on by sensei is Youngmin, the co-founder of this channel. I asked my sensei that he go especially hard on me to show you guys what traditional conditioning is all about! No worries, we don’t do this on every occasion!

This isn't sport Karate or modern styles of martial arts. This is a pure and dedicated form of traditional conditioning. Not for everyone, but deepest respect to those who do. Keep these skills alive. Respect

Having trained with Kiyohide Shinjo in the American dojo many many years ago, I also would witness him send his shins through multiple bats - doing conditioning with him was crazy and amazing. I had all of those same pictures on the wall to look at as part of this lineage of Uechi Ryu.

Reminds me of my own Sensei. Some days it was hard to tell if he was in a bad mood or just hated you😂 it was harsh and brutal and I'd have it no other way.

Okinawa is the birthplace of karate and is deeply rooted in the history and culture of the islands. Fantastic job in presenting its rigors and truest form to the global community!

That peace of wood hitting the leg must be very painful...

Incredible.   I have never witnessed conditioning of the toes or fingers like that.  Impressive.
