  Having traveled through parts of the American West, seeing places like Lake Mead and the Southwest up close makes this documentary hit completely differently. Standing near those reservoirs and seeing the massive &quot;bathtub ring&quot; on the canyon walls in person is genuinely eye-opening—you realize pretty quickly how fragile the entire water system really is out there.Great video! For anyone else here who has traveled around or lived in the West, what was the most shocking spot or reality check for you seeing the water drop?

  When I took a environmental science class in college back in the late 70s, they were already forecasting that the aquifer under the west would decline and eventually become a huge problem. We’ve ignored this problem for a long time we’ve known about it for a long time, our ignorance and our reluctance to accept reality has only gotten us deeper in trouble.

  Guess what folks, Captain Merriweather West &nbsp;of the Lewis and Clark Expedition told President Jefferson that that area was not a good place for a settlement, in 1804-1806, due to a Lack of Water.
