I remember the moment where they reveal the true history of the Alysa 3. I said to myself "This really is a phantasy star!".

I missed this franchise back in the day, mainly because I was an idiotic soldier for Nintendo during the great war. Unfortunately, I missed out on a few gems. Gamers need to follow the games and not the system.

I recently played through all 4 of these games. Even before I started III up, I had heard and had prepared myself for what I'd heard as a crappy game. However, I didn't think it was bad at all. It seemed like a different game with some vague hints of past characters put in, but otherwise, I wouldn't have guessed it was from the same franchise. I've played MUCH worse RPGs, and this one was pretty decent. I think I even liked it better than II, mainly because (and I'm embarrassed to write this), I got lost in some of the dungeons in II.

I still prefer 1 and 4.

I just remember the robot Chaz being super strong and the town theme in the first town was great

I still love this game. The music, the vibe.....yeah, it's not 2 or 4, but I still enjoy it.

When you were a kid, this was a wild trip of a game to play, essentially being thrown out into nowhere and being told nothing of what to do where to go or how to do things.

The thing with this game, is the LORE is actually extremely good and a VERY bad ass setting. The problem is that it is relatively empty, like it had a significantly intense design but didnt have the money to put it into play.

If you ever want to have a really fun time try using one of the AI D&D platforms and design your setting to match PSIII. It shows you what the game could have been, if it was given enough attention.

If ya think PS3 isn't a real PS because it's not in the same star system, I've got bad news for you about every single Final Fantasy.

That's a pretty hefty announcement. I hope your project pans out well, but I also know you're up for the task!

My favorite RPG of all time was Skies of Arcadia. I found out the people that made it also worked on Phantasy Star

PS III is my least favorite game in the series, but it did have that lineage mechanic, which I haven't seen used much since it's inception, so there's that. Imagine IV with that same mechanic... :hand-orange-covering-eyes:

14:03 and we're complaining about games of that price today.... Adjust for inflation and Phantasy Star III was well over $100.
We got ROBBED. D:<

Playing this after playing Phantasy Star 2 was like going from a medium-rare ribeye to a well-done sirloin.
