  Buyid Dynasty was one of the most important period in Shia Muslim history. <br><br>After decades of persecution by Sunni Umayyad&apos;s and Abbasids, Shia beliefs were not uniformed due to lack of written stuff. The beliefs only spread through word of mouth and Taqiyya. The Buyids changed that. They finally revolted and turned Abbasids into puppet rulers. <br><br>During this period, some of the most famous Shia scholars emerged such as Sheikh Saduq &nbsp;Shaikh Mufid, Sheikh Razi who successfully preserved from going extinct. They preserved &nbsp;the theology in written form and their books were widely copied by others and spread to other parts of Islamic world. Today, their books are widely read by Shia Muslims around the world. Buyid Dynasty is very underrated compared to Safavids.

  As a Persian, this has been an educational video.<br>There were so many dynasties in Iran after the fall of the Sassanids that we lose track of them when we read about them in school. (our books aren&apos;t very in depth about them either)<br><br>The last part was also interesting. The concept of seeing the world through the eyes of a person who lived 1000 years ago rather than counting generations of peoples as simple year numbers.<br><br>Thank you

  This was extremely clear and really artfully distilled so much scholarship into a digestible, clear manner. In under 25 minutes you managed to express whole sections of what took me a while to slog through in the Cambridge History of Iran and Farhad Daftary&apos;s works on Ismaili ascendancy (though still excellent resources). Thanks so much!

  This was really well done. This period from the early Abbasids until the Mongol invasion is always hazy to me. Too many overlapping dynasties in different regions. Meanwhile so much of the cultural production of Iran comes out of this phase.
