  as a queer person who tends to stay away when straight folks give takes on queer characters/media (for the reasons you stated at the beginning), it's incredibly heartwarming and validating to hear you talk positively about and analyze a gay character. so much of what's out there is "oh i like this character because being gay isn't their whole thing", which is fair, but when hate crime is still so rampant, being gay IS a major part of many's identity. i love that you acknowledge the mc's queerness and how it's integral to the plotline and themes of the show, and idk i just love the whole analysis. thanks for making this vid

  a fair number of straight people online seem to do this thing where they claim they don't hate all LGBT representation, just "forced" or "one-dimensional" representation, and then say that about all newly-announced rep regardless of quality. from the intro, I worried you'd start heading into that, but this turned out to be a reasonable and well-informed take on the matter instead. I'm not a big horror guy, and I didn't even know Chucky had a TV series, but the way you described the subject matter made me care about it and kept me engaged all the way through.
