Coffee's one small piece of an Italy trip — planning the rest of it doesn't have to be complicated. Check out our Italy Trip Planning Guide 👉 <a href="https://payhip.com/b/PTZO7">https://payhip.com/b/PTZO7</a>

Speaking for myself, as an American, please don’t adapt your customs for the American tourists. I welcome these differences, it’s what makes travel interesting. Great video

Italian here and I can assure you that, in big cities like Rome, no one will judge you if you order a cappuccino at noon or whenever you want. As for dairy intolerance, a lot of places have soy and other plant-based milks

Having been to Italy 5x, they are nicest people. Won’t say no to you if you can’t order coffee. They automatically switch to English to clarify. I ordered a coffee and sfogliatelle in Italian and the lady gave me this nod and smile that made me so happy.

In Italy, it is traditional to drink cappuccino only for breakfast, until 12 p.m. This is merely a custom and not a law. Therefore, if you wish to drink cappuccino in the afternoon, after 12 p.m., in the evening, or at night, you are free to do so; no one forbids it. Additionally, it is not customary or traditional to drink cappuccino when eating pasta, pizza, or any other meal, but if you want to, you can do so without any issue. We Italians are accustomed to drinking cappuccino only for breakfast, while eating a cornetto.<br>The advice I give you is to drink plenty of cappuccinos when you come to Italy because they are cheap and inexpensive compared to other parts of the world. Generally, the price shouldn't exceed €1.50, and with a cornetto, it shouldn't cost more than €2.50. Greetings from an Italian!

The reason why I don't drink cappuccino with my main meals is that its strong, sweet flavor will ruin the taste of my food, and the food will, in turn, ruin the taste of the cappuccino.

Also, if you want the frothy "latte", what you need to order is a "Latte Macchiato", which is basically the same! They will foam up a glass of milk and add a long espresso to it!

My grandparents hailed from Calabria. My dad, born in America, often surprised us on weekends by bringing home a "tomato pie" (pizza) or fresh clams for spaghetti. If we had drunk any milk within a few hours of his arrival, we were not allowed to eat the pizza or seafood! Kinda like we had to wait several hours after eating to go into the ocean!

To order a cup of coffee with a splash of milk in the early afternoon in Rome, look the barista in the eye and say: "Un caffè macchiato, per favore."<br>Ordering a caffè latte in the late afternoon will not get you arrested, no laws prohibit milk in coffee, but it will immediately identify you as a tourist.<br>A coffee with tiramisu is an excellent combination, the bitterness of coffee perfectly balances the sweetness of the dessert, so tiramisu is traditionally flavored with espresso.

I'm Italian. Congratulations on this informative video. <br>I was in San Gimignano about 10 years ago and I went to get a 'cappuccino e cornetto' one morning. I missed the beginning but there was an English woman arguing with the girl behind the counter. Turns out the woman had ordered a "latte" and guess what the girl had given her 😂... A glass of milk.
