So beautiful, I'm a Latin American revert from Honduras for almost 19 years of my life. How much I wish I can have knowledge of the Arabic language to go there or my own country to call to Islam. This has brought tears to my eyes.

ASAK Sis/bros. My wife and I were in Cuba and were shocked when a little old lady (black) said Salaam to us as she passed by. We were shocked! A Canadian couple recognized and told their young son what happened. We shortly after saw some Muslims and tried to ask them where they were coming from and they told us a Masjid was a few streets away. ALLAHU AKBAR, we went and prayed there. The building was a former museum and we saw older men reading Quran in Spanish! At our hotel we met a Muslim descendant of Lebanese but he was not practising but he knew his family were Muslim and that he went to the opening of the Masjid that we went to!

I moved to Jamaica as kid and while I was there I would always hear the elders talk of Cuba in a good way so much so I fell in love in with country with ever going there. I even had dream I went there and found a Muslim community — this is definitely a pleasant surprise, wow!! 🤩

As salaamu alaikum. In holguin...smaller town i met a lady who became Muslim because she heard shadahah in her sleep over and over again. She became Muslim and her family as well.

Mashallah I'm so so happy to hear that Sheikh Qadir and others were able to go to my homeland of Cuba and help the Muslims there. May Allah SWT reward you so so much. Aameen
I am a Cuban woman descendant of Algerian immigrants from the late 1800 that were escaping from the french invasion there, they are my great great grandparents and my grandmother was raised by them and I was so close to my grandmother who cooked Arabic food every day and spoke broken Spanish all of her life coz even though she was born in Cuba in 1930 she spoke mainly Arabic and French and raised her 8 children with very Arabic cultural affiliations including the food but we were not allowed to speak of our ancestors after the revolution and my grandmother was a firm believer in God Almighty and raised us saying that only God gives and takes and we can never abandon our faith in The Creator of the Heavens and The Earth. She never learnt to write in Spanish and rejected learning anything from the revolution and trust no one but God. I never heard of Islam but grew up with Islamic customs like how to wash ourselves with water every time we went to the loo and with the left hand and eat with the right hand, to never laugh at others, and she would say if Mohamed doesn't come to me then I will go to the mountain myself and we were like what does she mean, she meant don't run away from problems and go face them and find a solution, also used to say that an Arab has so much patience that they could wait a lifetime to see the body of their enemy go by to be buried that no one has so much patience as them...we would be like ok but again confused. She never ever spoke openly about her grandparents and kept our ancestors kind of hidden due to the political situation. Well I ended up leaving Cuba as a teenager and would you believe that I became a Muslimah Alhamdullilah without any islamic information but I saw Muslims praying on TV and it send shivers to my spine and I said what are those people doing I want to do the same, I researched for 9 months and took Shahada Alhamdullilah. I married a man from Tunisia and then with his family I realised that Arabic was very easy for me to understand and it felt familiar and the food is just as what my nanny used to cook us in Cuba SubahanAllah, I didn't know that I had been raised as an Arab Muslim until I married one. Also I do not remember a time in my life where I didn't know of the existence of God Almighty coz of my nanny and I was always told to dress modestly and my uncle would insist that I should cover my hair even with a baseball cap and I just wondered why like that was not normal in the 80's at all I'm Cuba, my nanny always wore a type of modest turban too. Alhamdullilah Allah SWT guided me to Islam and may He guide the rest of my family too. Aameen
I read and article many years ago that said that by 2050 Cuba would be majorly Muslim insha'Allah. There are many Muslim students from all over rhe Muslim world including Palestine and Gaza in Cuba now becoming doctors. Many of us cubans outside of Cuba are also becoming Muslims Alhamdullilah.
Thank you so so much for your visit to Cuba.
Jazzak Allah Khair
