It is still insane to me that northernlion is one of the main inspirations for markiplier

This is all hilarious to me because NL feels like the anti-YouTuber. Like he’a just a guy. And not even a particularly weird or offbeat one

Those monday NLSS with Josh and Hafu were really special.

NL is one of the rare streamers who actually tries to make constructed, funny jokes. Seriously I can barely think of anyone else on the platform who tries to do that.

The whole Markiplier thing always gets me because if he'd responded to that message, it very well could've changed the trajectory of the entire channel. Who knows what could've happened if they ended up networking or collaborating or whatever?

I've followed NL long enough you can tell how long someone has known NL based on what memes they reference. Fauna has some deep knowledge.

NorthernLion was the whole reason why I started playing Vampire Survivors, which is the sole reason why my channel exists. I saw him play it live and I recall on Inlaid Library, chat told him he needs Spinach for Fire Wand. I didn't even connect the dots that it refers to an evolution, but seeing the game and hearing that silly sentence I just wanted to play it

The hafu clip gets me every time. But the drawfee and idubz clips threw me for a loop

I've been off and on the NL train for a while now, just massive respect to the guy for grinding out content year after year without relying on chasing gimmicks. He's just a funny guy that plays games, the end.

the Hafu clip wrecks me everytime because I had such fond memories of the old Hearthstone Twitch-scene (I was like 12 then) and her perspective made me realize that a large part of that community was just literal online harassment

NL is kind of a proto-Jerma in that way. Just such a specific character that has this undeniable streamer magnetism to him. Really miss the classic NLSS days, but it seems like people are in a good place rn, so I guess it all worked out
