Mr. Lewis was my HS teacher. He’s who got me interested in running where I’d end up running D1 Track and Field and also inspired my passion for government and policy.

One time in 2010, Harvey and I were running the streets of the Queen City. I was barefoot that day, lost concentration, and cut my foot pretty badly on the concrete. I was bleeding everywhere and completely down for the count. Brother Harvey showed incredible compassion. He sprinted off toward his house, and about 10 minutes later, pulled up in his car with bandages. He taped my foot back into shape and drove me home. For the next several days, he kept texting me to check on how my foot was healing. That kind of kindness is one of Harvey’s greatest qualities. One that deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as his running.

Harvey is a legend. So understated and humble and that is what makes him so good. “To be in the forest by yourself”. That says it all my friend.
