  When I was a teenager we gave Ray who was in uniform a ride to the practice field. My Grandfather who was on backseat he noticed he said hello Pa. He let me hold his helmut. I shall aways remember his kindness. Mark Guarino

  Really touched. Dad was in Nam, and he heard the ice bowl, on short wave there.  I could hardly hold it together for the memories it brought. Thank you Ray.

  I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1952.     I’ve been a Green Bay Packer Fan FOREVER!      My entire Family are Packers Fans and always will be because the Packers are truly,  “AMERICA’S TEAM”!     I don’t know why that Label is given to the Dallas Cowboys because they don’t deserve to have it like the Packers?     Green Bay is from the Smallest town by far in the NFL and are owned by the Fans, not some Billionaire Owner!     Being owned by the Fans has EVERYTHING to do with being American!     I have admired Ray Nitschike for as long as I can remember because he is a “Larger than Life” Player and my Favorite Packer Player!    His Life Story is not only impressive but, shows you just how much he’s had to deal with and the obstacles he’s had to surpass during his Life!    Ray is an inspiration to EVERYONE and I’m a Better Person for knowing it and trying to emulate his tenacity and endless motivation and drive!    God Bless Ray and his Beautiful Family!

  Love Ray Nitschke. He was a good friend of my father. Remember shaking his hand for the first time. Huge bear paws that let you know his strength! The strongest hand shake I ever experienced.

  Even as a Bears fan I cannot say how touching this was. I was brought up in a Packers household and as the black sheep I was meant for the orange and navy blue. I grew up watching Ray play, what a guy.

  Ray Nitschike was a great linebacker for Green Bay. But he became a better man, after his coach Lombardi helped him face his fear, and channel his anger. When he and his wife adopted three orphaned children he became a heroic figure.<br>When he died at 61, he ascended to the Heavenly Realm. God bless his soul.
