Well, this isn't the Christmas gift I was expecting, but I'll take it. Thanks for covering some lore from us down here in The Heart of Dixie.

I’m from Tuscaloosa County. I’ve seen the face in the courthouse window many times. Love that this story was included!

Alabama has some pretty scary stories. But you cannot beat the Beauty of Alabama. Its probably The most Beautiful State.

I'm from Alabama and I wish you would put some newer stories on the video. Maybe tell some of the stories people tell in the comments.
A while back I posted a story about a giant bird-like creature that me and my brother both witnessed when getting off the interstate 22 exit towards Graysville. I screamed at my brother three times before he finally stopped the car. He's my older brother so I guess he just thought that I was just being an annoying younger brother. But I finally convinced him to stop the car. When he did he screamed at me saying "what!!!" I didn't say a word I just pointed straight ahead. Standing there on the other side of the street was a creature that walked on two legs and was about 7 ft tall. It almost looked as though it was a man with a large blackish red trench coat on. But the more we looked the more detail we saw. It was actually a lot thinner than a human. It's legs reminded me of ostrich legs but it was very thin. It stood as still as a statue for several minutes as me and my brother just sat there with our Jaws on the floor. What I first thought to be a trench coat wrapped around it was actually the creatures wings. I could barely see its chest but I saw its head very clearly. It had a long thin neck similar to one of its legs. It's head was rather small for its body and its beak only stuck out about 4 in from its face. Its eyes were very small. Where I was sitting I could not see the ears to give a good enough description. I did notice however that it was covered in short thick reddish black hair very similar to birds. After marveling at this creature for what felt like forever I goated my brother into honking the horn just to see what it would do. As soon as he did the creature squatted down and took a giant leap into the air. As soon as it did it spread out its wings which must have been at least 8 to 9 ft across. With several massive swoops of its wings it flew above our car with ease and took off into the night. It was by far one of the most amazing things we have ever seen.
I'm very grateful to have seen it with my brother becauseit's always nice to have somebody who can backup your story especially something as crazy as this was.
I am not a man to make up stories or spread gossip. All I can give you is my word that I am telling the truth. But it is up to you whether or not you want to believe. But honestly it makes no never mind to me I know what I saw and I will never forget it
