O yeah, I remember when I was leaving my very adulterous husband, how our very well meaning friends were interceding for him, that if I leave, there will be no one to keep him close to God. Excuse me?? He was up to his ears in sin with no intention to change... was I supposed to be his crutch forever??

I really appreciate the question about not hearing from God. Dr. M shared a story about the joy he experienced with his daughter and saw that as evidence of a good God who is speaking to him through his daughter. What a wonderful perspective. Do you think this is related to “delight yourself in the Lord…”? To see the humor of a little girl and to delight in the Lord is a really special thing. I feel that way watching my granddaughter doing new things - mimicking facial expressions and sounds, just bc that’s how God made us to be! It’s amazing! I never thought of that being God speaking to me but it makes sense. To Dr. M’s point-am I open to experience God, not in the ways I want Him to speak to me, but in the way he is speaking to me!
