  The reason it has so many Dragon Ball stuff is because it’s heavily based on a popular fan sprite animated webseries that is a crossover between Mario and Sonic and takes <b>heavy</b> inspiration from Dragon Ball Z &nbsp;named Super Mario Bros Z (Mecha Sonic’s voice in the series is actually soundclips of a Dragon Ball character named Cooler).

  Fun fact: Mecha Sonics Second taunt is a reference to a dragon ball meme of cooler raising his arms up. It’s funny because his voice lines are also from cooler

  So, for why Mecha Sonic has DB sound effects.<br>Mecha Sonic, while he does originate in Sonic 3&amp;K, also makes an appearance as the main antagonist in a fan animation named Super Mario Bros Z, with combat scenes inspired by Dragon Ball, and uses Dragon Ball SFX.<br>And as for Dark Sonic, he comes from a <b>five minute scene</b> in Sonic X.

  The reason why his hits have dragon ball z audio is because the whole character is based on super mario bros z, a very old flash cartoon, that is super well made for its time.
