The boss characters in Trilogy were generally off-limits in versus cause they played exactly like they do in the story, hyper armor and big damage with few moves. The players you fought with Shao Kahn probably felt disrespected and just wanted to take you out as fast as possible.

Picking bosses in Trilogy is essentially giving your opponent permission to be as disrespectful as possible. You don't do that unless you're really good with them, because you'll get absolutely cheesed into oblivion otherwise, as you've now learned.

Also, the two Sub-Zeros in UMK3 were Bi-Han and Kuai-Liang. Not sure how much of the lore you know from the old games, but Bi-Han was the first Sub-Zero featured in OG MK1. He was a ruthless assassin and was not so great a guy. He slaughtered Scorpion's clan, including Scorpion (Hanzo Hazashi) under orders from Quan-Chi, but he took perverse joy in it. He was killed in the original game's canon and descended into the Netherrealm and was warped into the specter we all know now as Noob Saibot.

Kuai-Liang came to become the grandmaster of the Lin Kuei and the new Sub-Zero, and was a much nicer person than his older brother, and eventually reshaped his clan into a much more honorable one. They were still assassins, but they weren't blood thirsty dicks any more. Fun fact as well; Frost a murderous bitch in the older games because she believes that the Lin Kuei should return to their roots and she's trying to embody that.

PSA: The collection currently has a lot of issues including delay input issues across all games and the online is broken. They are known issues but buyer beware.

I genuinely think Combo Sensei is one of the most unique MK YouTubers for this cause. If I'm being honest, it's either they simply stick to a single game or will only mess around with the newer ones, so I actually love him for this W vid. (He really got bullied hella hard)
