American politics and ruling elites are populated by cocooned children of privilege accustomed to getting away with murder. Protected and sheltered by virtue of their connections in high places they do not know how to handle the loss of such, to feel mortal. When cornered, they lean back on what they know, arrogance, clever quips, friendship with the powerful, resumes, family connections....begging you ignore their misdemeanours which have habitually gone unpunished whether discovered or not. Despots rarely feel laws apply to themselves and their paramours. The consequences of addiction to intoxicating substances are for the proletariat. The requirement to reply to direct questions with straight answers are for the ordinary" citizen. In a real democracy the citizen displays how their power can be extraordinary in extraordinary circumstances. And with such exercise the world is changed for the better!!!
